New computer

My new computer has been built! Please ooh and aah at all its pretty colors.
The IT department has completed their work and this was their final assessment:
- “Never again!” (to LED lights)
- “All these sexy components just to run Linux.”
- “Why is this case so heavy? Did it need to be this big?”
- “Okay the lights are very pretty…”
- "…but still never again."
We spent most of Saturday getting it ready and didn’t finish until pretty late. I don’t think I’ve spent this much time dealing with computer parts in my entire life. Windows and Linux didn’t get installed until Sunday morning, where I had to do it twice because I accidentally installed Linux on the wrong drive. That’s what I get for trying to do things before coffee.
But all is finally well. The LED lights in the new case worked with no issues, thankfully. Pretty sure K would’ve thrown it out the window if we’d had to order it a fourth time.
The only thing that hasn’t been replaced is the video card. The reimbursement from the monitor still hasn’t gone through so the wait continues. But one day. One day.
K’s new case arrived yesterday and she spent last night setting up her new computer (comprised of my previous components). She just needs a new video card.
Now that the computer issues have mostly been sorted we can get back to our regularly scheduled programming of … well, I’m not sure what our regularly scheduled programming is. But we’ll get back to it.
