A few things of little importance

K and I finished watching Silo S2 on Apple TV+ the other night. I’d bought all the series books last year in a moment of desperate I-must-know-what-happens, but didn’t get around to reading them.
Impatience freshly renewed, I decided to start Shift last night. It’s technically the second book in the series, but it’s also a prequel to everything that happens in it, and since I had a lot of questions about the how and the why, I decided to dive in.
I couldn’t put it down!
At around 2AM I briefly considered buying a digital copy since I needed to turn off the light so K could sleep, but I opted for sleeping instead.
Anyway, it’s very good so far and now I have some answers, but I still need more.
In other news, K has officially given up on Linux and returned to Windows. She gave it an honest try but ultimately couldn’t get the gaming stable enough and got tired of fighting with it.
Meanwhile, my life on Linux Mint has been very peaceful and mostly issue-free. But today I will venture over to the land of Windows and install all my video games. Whether I actually play or not remains to be seen.
Other items on the agenda for today: baking cinnamon rolls.
Yesterday, we ate the last two from our previous batch. We may not actually get around to baking, though, because K went out this morning and picked up a bag of seasonal beignets that she’d ordered from the farmers’ market. They’re only available in February so we try to stock up.
And on that thrilling note, I’m off to eat some before they disappear.
